About Gabriela

I’m Maria Gabriela Fontz — postpartum doula based in Asheville, NC.

Before becoming a postpartum doula, I spent 7 years as an infant nanny — working directly with newborns and families through the most demanding early months. That experience gave me a grounded, practical understanding of what families actually need: consistent presence, calm support, and someone who shows up ready.

My work is trauma-informed and mental health-aware. I understand that the postpartum period affects the whole family — emotionally and physically — and I bring that awareness into every shift.

I work in English and Portuguese, and I believe that strong postpartum support should feel like having a reliable, experienced person in your corner — not a service you have to manage.
